This document outlines the agreement between SCOPE and NAME, SCOPE Library Representative, UNIVERSITY Library. We would draw your attention to the Letter of Understanding which was signed by Chief Librarians at each Consortium Member Institute, in particular the data protection issues.

SCOPE has agreed to supply electronic material for NAME's course, entitled COURSE TITLE, to be provided in the FIRST/SECOND semester at UNIVERSITY.

1.0 Procedures

1.1 The reading list, text, and appropriate illustrations for this course have been supplied to the SCOPE unit at Stirling University.

1.2 The SCOPE Liaison Officer will use best endeavours to keep Library Representatives informed of progress on copyright clearance and costs

2.0 Delivery

SCOPE materials for which clearance has been received will be mounted on the Cactus database by DATE. Other materials from the reading list will be mounted as and when possible. UNIVERSITY will undertake to provide suitably configured computers and printers for students to access the materials. UNIVERSITY will also have password controlled access to the internet on machines which will deliver SCOPE materials.

Student names and matriculation numbers to be supplied to the Technical Unit at least 5 working days before access is required.

3.0 Payment

SCOPE will invoice UNIVERSITY for pay per use material at the end of each semester, unless other arrangements are required by the publishers concerned. Material which has been licensed for a one-off flat fee, and for which SCOPE has been invoiced will in turn be invoiced to UNIVERSITY for payment within 30 days.

4.0 Evaluation

The Library Representative will evaluate the impact of SCOPE resources on

a) students
b) academics
c) the library

The SCOPE Liaison Officer will supply draft survey material to the Library Representative who will then carry out the evaluations and return the completed questionnaires and reports. The actual schedule is yet to be determined, although the final reports are due by DATE.
