SCOPE - a brief overview
The project is part of the Electronic
Libraries Programme (eLib), established by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) following recommendations of the Follett Report of 1993 on the use of information technology in university libraries. The aim is to use IT to improve delivery of information through increased use of electronic library services.
SCOPE is a consortium of 13 Scottish higher education institutions, including all but one of the Scottish universities. The lead site is the University of Stirling which houses the Copyright Unit; its partner is Napier University, Edinburgh where the Technical Unit is based.
